Let´s suppose there are 500,000 cardholders in this specific promotion and that they are divided into groups or “clubs” of 100 people. If we apply the 80/20 rule or Paretto´s law (*) and use the typical prizes for the draws, we obtain the following forecast:

(*) It is the best approximation to the general behaviour of an ordinary customer´s habits: 20% of the cardholders will possess 80% of the total spend whereas the other 80% will have only the remaining percentage, i.e, the 20% left. As stated in Shop2win documentation, we can reach more balanced distributions of 70/30 by applying a “group-oriented levelling technique”.

The figures provided need to be regarded as mere estimates since they may vary for each cardholder depending on his or her spending and its proportional share (see cardholder´s individual forecasts below).

100,000 Cardholders (20% of the promotion) will check their approximate permanent forecast with the following results (80% of the whole prize):
